Patient care assistants provide or assist with basic care or support under the direction of onsite licensed nursing staff. Perform duties such as monitoring the health status, feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, or ambulating patients in a health or nursing facility.

  3. What are the night shift duties for HCA?

The night shift is when the care assistant’s duties change slightly. They will, of course, respond to call bells; some may be assigned to close observation duties every 15 minutes for those who are bedbound and need catheters emptied and pads changed. But on night duty, caregivers also have housekeeping duties.
