  1. How do I become a dental nurse in Ireland?

    In Ireland, there are two programs currently available to those wishing to train as dental nurses: the Dublin Dental School & Hospital’s Diploma in Dental Nursing and the National Dental Nurse Training Programme of Ireland’s Certificate of Dental Nursing.

  2. Is it easy to be a dental nurse? 

    It is a lot of hard work. Some days may be manic, and you will run late sometimes. At times, you may need the help of another nurse just to catch up. Remember, nurses work as a team, and they will help each other when they can, so don’t be afraid to ask for help when you get stuck on something or start to struggle.

  3. Can I work as a dental nurse in Ireland? 

    It is not mandatory to register as a dental nurse in order to practice in the Republic of Ireland. However, only registered dental nurses are permitted to take dental radiographs on the prescription of a dentist, having completed a Dental Council-approved course in dental radiography.
